A bush fire swept through community land close to the western boundry of Thanda Private Game Reserve this weekend. A team of Wildlife ACT monitors and Thanda rangers went out on Friday and Saturday to fight the fire as it jumped over the fence and started creeping onto the Mduna section on Thanda.The alpha female African Painted Dog has denned on this section and our team worked tirelessly to successfully put the fire out before it threatened the denWildlife ACT's monitor, Michelle Swemmer, is pictured here dirty and tired...but smiling! The African Painted Dog's den site is safe and sound.
