Priority Species Monitor: Manyoni

I started studying Zoology at the University of Pretoria in 2011, and although it wasn’t my first choice, I’ve had no regrets. I rarely had the opportunity to experience the beauty of the African bush when I was younger growing up in Johannesburg, so being able to spend as much time in the field as possible is truly the best I could ask for. During my studies I volunteered at various rehabilitation centers in the hopes that I would one day work with rehabilitating wildlife. Last year I completed an internship at a zoo in Scotland where I got to experience a different take on conservation. It was a very rewarding experience and I learnt a lot there, but it wasn’t Africa.

I was very excited to be given this opportunity to join Wildlife ACT, to be a part of this great team and aid in the excellent work that Wildlife ACT does!
