I completed my Masters through Stellenbosch University which focused on Spotted Hyena Ecology in the Majete Wildlife Reserve in Malawi. After my studies I took a gap year and drove to the equator in Uganda in my 4×2 vehicle. After my gap year I started taking life more serious and began working for a sustainable land management NGO in the Karoo – in the central part of South Africa. Unfortunately, this position focused very little on wildlife and I found myself wanting to return to the bush again. I was very fortunate to have found this position as a priority species monitor with Wildlife ACT, and am looking forward to the days to come.
