Priority Species Monitor: Hluhluwe/iMfolozi

From a young age I have always had a keen curiosity and love for nature. I was born and raised in Johannesburg and always intended to pursue a career in something nature related. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 2015 and from there decided I wanted more field experience. I completed a basic nature guiding course in 2017 and dived straight into nature guiding. After spending some time as a nature guide in the Pilanesberg National Park I realised I wanted to be more hands-on in the field of conservation.

Together with my bachelors degree and field experience I was fortunate to get a foot in the door with Wildlife ACT at the end of 2019. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of wild and wonderful experiences and a great opportunity to learn what true conservation is all about. Monitoring endangered species on one of the oldest proclaimed Parks in Africa in the heart of Zululand is more than a dream come true.
