Kayleigh Huysamen is an accomplished wildlife author, conservationist, and educator who plays a vital role in Wildlife ACT’s community engagement efforts. As a part-time employee, she serves as the Educational Content Specialist and leads the WILD Collections.

With a Master’s degree in Ecology and an Honours degree in Plant Pathology, Kayleigh combines her scientific expertise with a deep passion for conservation and education. She is the creator of unique wildlife-themed South African books, field guides, and stationery, which reflect her dedication to fostering a love for nature.

Living on a farm in Zululand, Kayleigh balances her professional pursuits with homeschooling her three adventurous children. Her extensive background in science and ecology, paired with her enthusiasm for nurturing young minds, has driven the development of impactful community educational materials. These resources focus on wildlife, conservation projects, and the unique ecology of targeted areas.

Through her leadership of The WILD Collection and her creative educational initiatives, Kayleigh inspires communities and future generations to connect with and protect Africa’s wildlife and natural heritage.
